"I really enjoyed our stay here! Staff was friendly, our room was beautiful and had a small balcony that looked over the street. A/C was great, and we enjoyed sitting by the canal during happy hour. Would just have been nice to have a bit of a guide in navigating the A/C and lights, but otherwise a lovely stay."

"The Amsterdam Canal suites are a great way to feel like you have your own apartment in the city. We found the bed and furniture very comfortable. Closing the blinds at night made for peaceful rest as long as the people above you are not walking around. We had the subterranean unit. Footsteps and furniture moving on the floor are noticeable from above if you are just trying for silence. We did not hear other sounds. Kitchen has needed equipment for preparing simple meals. TV and Internet were sufficient to downtime entertainment. We had some issues with cleanliness of the suite, but we were able to work with management to address timely. Shower is hot and water pressure good. We were happy with the location and it made for easy exploration of the city. Nearby restaurants, bakeries and grocery shopping were great."

"My experience is intended to be a warning. I booked one of their apartments. It was below ground, with no ac and no ability to open the windows. As you can imagine, it was musty, stuffy, and with a hint of mold. Not helped by the shag carpeting. This was not what I was expecting. I contacted the hotel immediately and was informed that they had no availability and I had paid a no refund rate so that was that. I told them that I had no idea it was below ground, and they then told me that it is written in Dutch. I asked why this was the only thing not written in English and they had no explanation. Oversight or intentional? Dont know. The website also did not inform that there are no windows. It does say no ac but my expectation was that it would be possible to at least open the windows. No comment from management. They have my money and that is just the end of the story. My STRONG SUGGESTION is to call the front desk and make sure that there are not details hidden. If I had known what I was getting I never would have booked. THIS IS A CASE OF LET THE BUYER BEWARE."
