Pulitzer Amsterdam

"I generally prefer to stay in small family run hotels where I can feel at home. That is definitely not the Pulitzer. Whilst it would be unfair to describe it as a large chain hotel, it is nevertheless busy and perhaps slightly impersonal.\n\nPros\n\n1. Excellent location on one of the nicest of the many beautiful Amsterdam Canal streets.\n\n2. Extensive restaurant and bar facilities, many of which are outdoors in a nice garden courtyard.\n\n3. Generally smart and quite luxurious with willing service.\n\nCons\n\n1. Carved out of a number of old private houses and therefore rather rambling and not entirely easy to navigate!!\n\n2. My room didn’t really have a view and the impression I have is not many of the rooms do.\n\n3. inevitably impersonal. Reception has the vibe of a business class check-in desk at a fairly busy International Airport.\n\n4. Amsterdam is expensive so one can’t expect too much for the money. But still, 500 euros a night did seem quite a lot for a modestly sized room with no real view.\n\n5. I like Americans so this is not a complaint, but there were a lot in men in slacks and blazers 🥴😂\n\nSo overall, nice if you like this sort of thing. But I think the next time I come to Amsterdam, I’m going to try and find a much smaller, more intimate hotel and preferably one that has a view from the bedroom!!"

"Amazing stay. The property is outstanding. You feel in the 17th century Amsterdam golden age. Amenities are modern and luxurious. There is a terrace inside the hotel with a very good restaurant where to chill and have great food. The concierge is very good at demands, and everyone in the staff is very kind and keen to help. The bar is also a great spot with a twist in basic drinks.\nI would recommend the hotel to improve cleanliness. The carpets seem old and when you get into the room it seems that cleanliness is not paid attention to the fullest.\nI would also improve the lobby. It is pretty small and gets easily crowded. More sofas would be an option."

"The location was exceptional! Right next to a canal and in the heart of the restaurants and shops around. It was very easy to just step outside and walk any direction you wished.\n\nThe staff at the front desk and entry were extremely warm and helpful.\n\nRooms are good in size and offer great amenities. Love the color pencils and postcards touch.\n\nThe architecture of the hotel itself is unforgettable as well. We stayed there for 6 nights and absolutely loved it."
