"LITERAL NIGHTMARE is the only way I would describe our stay at this hotel. They put us in a small room on the top floor where the windows were bolted shut and there was zero ventilation. It was a really hot day and felt like 35°C in the room and it was a health concern for two people to sleep in a tiny hot room with no oxygen. The receptionist said to use the fan, but this just blew hot stuffy air around. I told her my mum has a heart condition and needs fresh air but she said the hotel is booked out and there’s nothing she can do. We weren’t able to get in touch with the manager that night and honestly I don’t think they care at all about customers. “Exceptional circumstances” means nothing to them even when it’s their fault their facilities aren’t up to scratch. I told them it’s inhumane to make people sleep in a small stuffy room with no fresh air. The shared shower and bathroom had no ventilation too so it smelled really bad on the top floor. The steep stairs were a massive hazard and nightmare too and we had to leave our suitcases at reception. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, even if it’s cheaper than other places. Truly the most stressful and worst travel experience in my life."

"The room was big, but there were no slippers, so the floor was not that hygienic to walk with naked feet. The pillow was not comfortable at all. They were big and stiff. The room was clean. The hotel location is very good and you have access to many places. The stairs had a very high slope, and there was no elevator. So. If you have senior people, watch out! It's also hard to carry the luggage.\n\nI reduced 2 starts because they got 100 Euros as a deposit, and they haven't mentioned it in booking.com or any emails that they sent after booking."

"One of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had — especially as a family with a baby.\n\nWe stayed at Hotel Washington for two nights as a couple with our 5-month-old baby, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.\n\nThe baby cot we had specifically requested was provided without any mattress — just a hard wooden board. Completely unsafe, and absolutely unacceptable. When we flagged the issue, a staff member came to take pictures and promised to escalate it to management. Nothing was done. The next day, we complained again. Still nothing. We ended up padding the crib with duvets ourselves just to protect our baby’s back.\n\nThis is not a matter of room type or availability, as the hotel later tried to claim — it’s a basic safety issue that should never happen in any hotel.\n\nNoise was also a major problem, despite the hotel’s so-called “quiet policy,” which is neither enforced nor respected. On our final night, we were kept awake for hours by noisy guests next door. We managed the situation ourselves, as we had no faith that the hotel would respond — and understandably so.\n\nAs a token of apology, we were offered a complimentary breakfast — which turned out to be half-cleared when we arrived, with almost nothing left to eat.\n\nWe travel often, including with our baby, and have never been treated with such disregard. The hotel has refused to offer any real compensation or acknowledge the seriousness of the situation.\n\nIf you’re traveling with a baby, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This hotel is simply not equipped to host young families — and worse, they don’t seem to care."
