"You can't beat the practicality and comfort! The reception area was comfortable and staffed around-the-clock. We were able to drop off our luggage before our check-in time so that we could explore the city unencumbered! The room, while naturally small, was comfortable and clean. We booked the romantic getaway package which was a fun touch. I wish I had taken a picture of my breakfast - the selection was amazing and beautifully laid out. I especially enjoyed the fresh juice and coffee."

"Hotel van de Vijsel – Cozy but with a few downsides\n\nMy girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel van de Vijsel for a few nights and overall had a good experience. The location is great – it’s easy to get around the city from here, and you’re close to lots of things.\n\nThe rooms are very small, but we actually found it quite cozy and charming. The shower was surprisingly good, which we really appreciated after long days of walking around Amsterdam.\n\nThe staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay. One downside was that we hadn’t realized there was an extra city tax to pay on arrival, which was a bit of a disappointment. Also, one of the towels we got on the first day was dirty, which felt a bit unhygienic.\n\nAnother thing to be aware of is that there aren’t really any proper windows in the rooms – just a view into the inner part of the hotel, facing other rooms. It made the space feel a bit closed off. For the price, you don’t get a lot, but if you’re just looking for a simple place to stay with a good location, it does the job.\n\nAll in all, we were happy with our stay and could definitely see ourselves staying here again despite a few flaws."

"Had a great stay here for a 6 night city break. Staff are helpful and friendly, and the breakfast selection was nice, with good options for a European style breakfast with a few specifically Dutch options such as pancakes.\n\nThe room was comfortable, with nice bedding and good thick towels in a well appointed bathroom with a good rain shower. It was also quiet and serene given how busy an area it's in, helped by being largely based around an inner courtyard with a shared balcony.\n\nThe only, very minor, issue was storage as it was a longer break, with few flat surfaces and no drawers, there was a rail though with a good number of clothes hangers."
