Hotel Manofa

"I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the location was excellent—just a 10-minute walk from the train station and surrounded by restaurants and supermarkets—the overall stay was disappointing due to cleanliness and service issues.\n\nUpon arrival, the room was not properly cleaned, and the bedsheets had visible stains and small hairs. When I raised this concern with the receptionist, her response was dismissive, stating, “You booked a 2-star hotel; don’t expect anything luxurious.” However, basic cleanliness is not a luxury—it’s a fundamental requirement. She also claimed that the sheets were freshly laundered, yet when housekeeping replaced them, they were noticeably cleaner. This raises the question: why wasn’t this done properly from the start?\n\nAnother downside was the bathroom floor, which was extremely cold, making showers quite uncomfortable. Additionally, the hotel lacks an elevator, and the steep stairs made carrying luggage to the top floor quite a challenge.\n\nOn the positive side, the location was fantastic, making it easy to find good breakfast spots nearby. The free hot drinks available at the reception were also a nice touch—we enjoyed several cups of coffee each day.\n\nOverall, despite the convenient location and small perks, the lack of cleanliness and poor customer service made the stay uncomfortable. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again."

"This hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short 10-15 minute walk from the train station, making it super convenient for exploring the city. While the rooms could use a little maintenance, they were very clean and comfortable.\n\nI found the staff to be polite and approachable, despite some reviews suggesting otherwise. A nice bonus was the free hot drinks in reception and the two vending machines, perfect for a quick refreshment. Plus, there’s a supermarket just a few doors down, which was really handy!\n\nA heads-up for future guests—the stairs are quite steep, and there’s no lift, so staying on the top floor was a bit of a workout! However, this is pretty common in Amsterdam hotels.\n\nOverall, I had a great stay and would definitely book again. Thanks for a lovely experience!"

"Accommodated at last minute as the 1st hotel we booked did not have private bathrooms. Found on hotels dot com and they showed as having available rooms so walked to location and was offered a better deal than the app. Fantastic location with everything on your doorstep including a fantastic pancake house next door for breakfasts. The only downside was doors slamming throughout night and someone trying to enter our room at 4am not realising he had got wrong room! Other than that fantastic and we are here for 2 nights so 1 more to go."
