"The biggest advantage of this hotel is the location — it’s very convenient for getting to major attractions, and the metro is nearby. The beds and pillows were also comfortable.\nThis is definitely not what you expect from a 4-star hotel. The room was tiny, very typically Parisian 😂. The toilet was almost a joke — we are two petite girls, and even we could barely fit. Our shoulders touched the toilet paper holder, and our foreheads nearly hit the sink. The toilet seat seemed like it was from a different toilet — tilted to the side. If the bathroom mat was on the floor, you couldn’t open the door. One evening, there was a terrible sewer smell coming from the bathroom, and we had to keep the bathroom door shut to avoid the stench in the room. The space was so limited there was barely room to move. It was also very annoying to have to use the key card multiple times just to enter or exit the building. The dishwasher in our room didn’t work either.\nI also didn’t like that the hotel tried to charge my card for the stay two months before my arrival — even though it clearly says on the website that payment is due upon check-in. I had to exchange several emails with the staff, and they insisted that they had the right to freeze a deposit. I eventually agreed to that, but they didn’t even follow through with the deposit hold. Why cause me unnecessary stress and confusion?\nOverall, it’s an average hotel — but definitely not worth a 4-star rating."

"We are staying in room 309 and we booked for 8 nights, extending one more. Prior to booking, I did a lot of research and was really scared off by quite a number of negative reviews. I am pleased to say my experience is so different. I am so satisfied I am definitely booking adagio again but might try a different neighbourhood because I want to experience another part of Paris.\nHere are all the positives:\n1. I was already pleasantly surprised from the door. It was modern so it appealed to me because I think ancient might mean its dated and badly maintained.\n2. Double card entry makes it safe and also good filter from external noise. And a great feeling like you are coming back to a nice condo apartment.\n3. The staff were reasonably professional. Dont expect super chummy American style. But they definitely do reply to everything I asked. There are many of them as they are there 24/7\n4. Free nespresso coffee at reception very nice. Plus lemon water too but if you return late, it will not be refilled. Water station for free water refill also perfect.\n5. I have not used the laundry yet but there is one in the basement\n6. My room is spacious. I love having an entrance area then another door to the bed. More than enough space to walk around even though it is compact. Kitchen is definitely good enough with a good oven and stove and even cooking utensils. (don't expect cooking ingredients) but nice cutlery, plates all there. I did get one dirty plate unwashed so it was a yakky feeling but hey a small mishap from housekeeping)\n7. Very quiet. All rooms facing coutyard and we are well shielded from the street. I slept very well. We dont even need to turn on the AC and I like their comforter.\n8. The location is more than superb. You are 2 small blocks from the grand magasins and metros 3, 7, 9 and RER A will take you to almost everywhere plus bus stations right almost door step. The accessibility is amazing.\n9. They are super pet friendly with a reasonable surcharge if you are staying longer than a week.\nIf I have to mention one downer, the floor is well matched to the overall theme but this sort of material may look dirty and therefore you are not sure how clean it really is.\nTo be honest I do not understand the negative reviews I read here. Just wanted to share mine as this is exactly how blown away I am. Cheers!"

"I stayed for a week. With four people in the room, we quickly ran out of toilet paper. When I asked for more at reception, a male staff member looked annoyed and loudly asked, “Why don’t you use water?” He didn’t give it right away. Another staff nearby heard but said nothing.\n\nAs an Asian woman, I felt disrespected—especially since I saw him treating a white male guest politely. I felt humiliated.\n\nThe location is good and most staff were nice, but this one experience ruined my stay."
