Diamond Hill — Connemara National Park
Diamond Hill (445m) in Connemara National Park is one of Ireland's most rewarding shorter mountain walks. The quartzite summit offers a 360-degree panorama: Killary Fjord, the Twelve Bens, Ballinakill Bay, Kylemore Abbey, and Croagh Patrick across the bay in Mayo. The mountain is named for the glittering quartzite crystals on its surface. The National Park visitor centre has excellent exhibits on Connemara's ecology and is free to enter.
