Black Head Loop — The Burren
The Black Head Loop is the finest shorter walk in the Burren — 360km2 of unique limestone pavement in County Clare. The route climbs to Black Head (122m) through limestone pavement, past a Neolithic wedge tomb, with panoramic views over Galway Bay to the Connemara mountains. The Burren's extraordinary flora (Arctic, Mediterranean and Alpine plants growing side by side) peaks in May and June.
