"I was rather disappointed with room. We were in the basement of the building. Very creaky floors could hear people above walking around all night. Could hear the boiler. Doors only just about closed. Went to make a cup of tea and found a half opened bag of nuts in the cup, which with a nut allergy in the family could of been a disaster. No remote for tv. It did for the night but wouldn't repeat the experience. Was very rundown."

"After reading some reviews we were a little worried about what we were letting ourselves in for but infact it wasn't that bad at all! Yes there are things that definitely need improving but would we stay again? Yes! (But probably 2 nights max!)\n\nPros -\nLOCATION! a 5min walk from Hyde Park, Oxford Street round corner, half hour walk to Buckingham Palace etc..\n\nPrice - for the location and size of rooms it is cheap!\n\nIt was actually quiet at night and I had a decent night's sleep\n\nThe staff were friendly and polite\n\nCons -\nIt needed a REALLY DEEP CLEAN - didn't even attempt to use shower as you'd probably come out dirtier!\n\nThe kettle was unusable as it absolutely stunk and there were no plug sockets by the table.\n\nPlug sockets are limited, and the TV didn't work.\n\nThe door locks are dodgy and one of the rooms we had ( room 14 in the basement!) when we got there the door was open so having read reviews we attempted to shut it and managed to get it locked but then couldn't unlock it! We did speak to reception the next day and they went down and sorted it but it still didn't feel safe to use.\n(Luckily we had 2 rooms between us so I stayed in there instead)"

"Great location! But very run down, dirty and smelt of smoke!!! If we hadn’t have arrived so late on the night we’d have gone elsewhere! The sheets on the bed were clean but didn’t dare check underneath them!! The carpet in the room was dirty and sticky!! Could not walk bare foot on it!"
