"For London prices, this place isn’t bad value for money.\n\nA few things to keep in mind: the hotel has three floors and no elevator, which is clearly stated, but the stairs are extremely narrow—I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re carrying large suitcases. Also, the walls are quite thin, so you might unintentionally become a spectator to your neighbours’ activities.\n\nOn the positive side, the shared bathrooms were very clean and spacious, and the room itself was surprisingly roomy for the price. The location is excellent—literally right next to the metro entrance and within walking distance of Borough Market.\n\nIf you’re travelling light and looking for a budget-friendly stay in this area, it’s not a bad choice."

"I don't recommend this place (The Borough, London Bridge) to anyone, despite being in a great location at a good rate (still, too high for all that happened).\n\nI'm a solo female traveler, and I was in my room resting in the evening when a male customer opened my door. (Not his fault!). There's no reception at the place, no person in charge, and we are provided with codes to enter the room. "The system", I was told, considered my room empty and booked it for another person and provided the same code I had.\n\nAfter contacting an assistant online, I was told the problem was solved, and provided a new code to enter the room. But the door was still programmed for the first code. They tried to change it a second time, but still the new code wouldn't work, only the first one.\n\nNeedless to say that I had problems falling asleep because I wasn't feeling safe. Someone else could just bump into my room again.\n\nAround 5 am, the building was woken up by a fire alarm. Costumers rushed outside. After a few minutes, we started calling the remote assistance, and they didn't even notice that the alarm was on. They sent me instructions on how to silence the alarm. (Really?! Are customers supposed to do that?). Fortunately, the firefighters arrived and they solved it. There was no fire after all. (The assistant said someone smoked in the room; the firefighter said it was flooding that caused a short-circuit.) Anyway, despite the fire alarm lasting for more than 40 minutes, the fire sprinklers weren't working properly, just some drops falling. Also, there were no instructions in my room about how to evacuate the building or what to do in such situations.\n\nOn top of this, the room was extremely hot, and the small fan wasn't able to provide relief. Also, I had to clean the fan before using it because it was so full of dust and dirt that would surely caused an allergy crisis.\n\nI should add that I tried to connect to their WiFi and got a warning saying it was not a safe network."
