"Long story - Disappointing Stay – Not Recommended for Families\n\nWe recently stayed at the Best Western and were incredibly disappointed with the experience. As a family of five, we expected a certain level of comfort and basic hospitality, but unfortunately, this location fell short in several key areas.\n\nTo start, we were placed in an outside flat in the parking lot, which was not clearly described when booking. The room is also pretty dated. Right from check-in, the service was lacking. When we requested extra pillows, we were met with a rude and unnecessary question: "Why do you need so many?" — despite the fact that our reservation clearly showed we were a family of five.\n\nThe worst part of our stay was the limited hot water, which happened twice. On one of those days, I became ill overnight and desperately needed a hot shower to clean up. Shockingly, the staff offered me access to a basement room to shower. I was appalled and ended up heating water with an electric kettle just to bathe.\n\nAdditionally, the bedding in my children's room smelled like wet laundry left in a washer for too long. Even worse, there were small black bugs — not the kind that bite, but still enough to upset my youngest child and raise hygiene concerns.\n\nWhile the location is convenient for accessing the underground and train lines, that’s about the only positive aspect I can mention. It's also located right in front of Finsbury Park, it's a little sketchy there.\n\nTo be clear, this review only reflects our experience in the external flat and not the main hotel building, which we did not see inside. However, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for families. The lack of supplies, rude questioning, cleanliness issues, and poor customer service left us extremely disappointed."

"Really disappointed to say the least.\nRoom was tiny, I kept knocking my leg in the bed and the unit that had a couple of hanging rails on and a cupboard below containing the safe that had no battery cover on. The bed was against the wall with dirty marks on the wall, so placed a pillow there so as not to roll onto the wall. The chair next to the little unit with the kettle on was stained and the kettle still had water in it from the last guest so obviously had not been cleaned in between.\nMy brother's room had a stains on the mattress and dirty marks on the wall. The keypad for the safe was missing and he kept banging into things trying to get around the bed.\nWe both had issues with noise from other guests who at gone midnight were so inconsiderate to other guests and the cooked breakfast was poor. This is the first time I have ever had to write such a review but felt I had to. We go have stayed in best westerns all over, this was such a poor relation to the others. I know others might have had positive experiences but on this occasion we didn't.\nThey need to clean the rooms properly , clean the walls (maybe touch up the paint) and check for stains on chairs and mattresses."

"We booked a 2-night stay from 30/05/2025 to 01/06/2025, but ended up leaving after just one night because the hotel was in terrible condition — nothing like what’s shown online.\n\nThe entire place is outdated and poorly maintained:\n\nThe corridors were dirty, with rusty buckets, foul-smelling mops, and bins just left out in the open.\n\nCarpets and surfaces were covered in thick dust, including skirting boards and door handles.\n\nOur room was filthy – dust on every piece of furniture, a stained and worn-out mattress, and holes in the duvet cover.\n\nThe bathroom smelled of damp, had mold, and grime everywhere.\n\nThe sound insulation is non-existent – we could hear every word from the corridor.\n\nWe barely slept, and the place was so uncomfortable we left a night early and drove home. Absolutely not worth the money and far from the restful experience we expected. Would not recommend staying here until serious cleaning and renovations are done."
