"I asked the receptionist what the hotel does with copies of guests’ IDs, as I’ve never been asked to provide one at a hotel in the UK before. That turned out to be a mistake. He responded with an aggressive and rude rant about how it's a family-run business and that he “knows better.” understand if there are policies — and I handed over my ID without argument — but surely I’m allowed to ask what happens to my personal data without being met with hostility?\n\nHe then told me that if I didn’t like it, I could book another place — this was at 10 PM, and I’m a woman traveling alone. And it got worse: he made a comment about me being a foreigner and suggested that’s why the police might be interested in me — and that’s the legitimate reason to make a copy of my ID. Seriously?\n\nMy partner booked this hotel and specifically mentioned that I have mobility issues. Despite this, I was given a room on the top floor up a narrow, steep staircase. Even without mobility concerns, it felt unsafe. But I’m traveling for work and have an early morning — I simply didn’t have the energy to argue.\n\nAs for the room itself: the lamp flickers constantly, the carpets are worn, and the walls need a fresh coat of paint. The bed feels like it’s older than the building. There are noises in the bathroom. You didn’t copy WiFi password by the reception? Too bad! It won’t be in your room!\n\nThe only positive thing I can say is that the bathroom was squeaky clean.\n\nMaybe I don’t stay in enough “family-run” hotels in the UK, but this place definitely made my *international* top 5 worst stays."

"Excellent value for a central London hotel, super clean, great shower (small cubicle but fine for me), really lovely staff who were very chatty and helpful - a special shout out to Islam :) Honestly I couldn't have asked for more for the price I paid. A room fan was provided as it was very hot. I found it very quiet given how close I was to Euston / King's Cross St Pancras."

"Very bad my daughter got a brand new Taylor Swift top, and we ended up accidentally leaving it there. i contacted them to say that we left it there and if they can send it back ,but they put it in the bin because they thought it was trash because it was next to the bin. My daughter is devastated because she loved the top.\nDon’t recommend going there if you forget stuff"
