Astan Hotel Galata

"Centrally located in the tourist areas so it is close and convenient to many sites, restaurants and shops etc.\n\nIt is down a steep and narrow road so my taxi from the airport had to stop about 100m away.\n\nThe front desk staff during the day and night are both very friendly and speak good English. Any requests we had were sorted quickly. They were very pleasant.\n\nWe did have some issues in the first day with the sheets and towels not being super clean. They still had some stains on them and the replacements were not much better.\n\nThe room is a bit dark, not all the lights work. But otherwise it is fairly spacious and nicely decorated. It needs new brighter light bulbs and the non working fixtures to be replaced.\n\nRoom cleaning was a mixed bag. The lady was friendly but didn't do a thorough job. E.g. we stayed for 9 days and had to manually ask for refills to toiletries or toilet paper. I had a cup of tea on the first day and it was never cleaned the entire stay. There was still lots of toothpaste stain by the bathroom sink wall.\n\nGood AC, water pressure and WiFi.\n\nSoundproofing needs improvement though as the walls are super thin and noise travels through the vents easily. Could quite clearly hear everything as the girl next door had a train run on her one night."

"Very cozy and small hotel. The staff here is very helpful and will help and advise on anything. Very excellent location from where you can walk to all the sights, near many places with food, there is also a grocery store. There are some minor flaws, but they do not affect the stay in any way"

"Was very pleased with my stay here - the room was comfortable and there was a filling breakfast. The location is also good. I was impressed by the level of service and hospitality - the manager carried my luggage down a steep flight of steps so I could hail a taxi."
