"I booked through Agoda and my initial reservation was cancelled because I used my wife's credit card and the name did not match the booking name (Agoda sent me an email stating that the hotel was unable to process my card because the names did not not match). I then proceeded to WhatsApp the hotel and they confirmed that this was not a problem and the booking was still valid. 24 hours later, my booking was cancelled. I then sucessfully rebooked with my own credit card but the initial experience left a lot to be desired.\n\nFast forward to my stay; rooms were very small while the bathroom and balcony were huge. No major qualms or issues; just average. Aire acondicionado was fixed at "heater" mode eventhough the console had a toggle between "cold" and "hot", which made no sense at all.\n\nTo make matters worse, they charged me 318 euros for my room which I booked through Agoda at a rate of 308 euros. I clarified but could not understand the explanation as the receptionist was not well versed in English. In any event, this is the first time that I had to pay an amount that differed from what was booked in the many years of travelling across different countries.\n\nThe plus point? Location is highly accessible with the metro and bus stops just outside the hotel. And also a nice patio balcony area.\n\nHaving said that, I still would not recommend this hotel due to communication issues, average rooms and the discrepancy in rates."

"Booked as a place to stop in Madrid before Camino Santiago.\n\nQuiet middle class neighborhood. Right next to Cercanías (to Chamartín + Airport) and Metro and Bus for all attractions.\n\nSuper clean rooms. Nice staff. Small restaurant part of hotel. There’s an amazing rooftop terrace with 360 views and a library. See photos.\n\nGood if you like:\n* affordable\n* interaction in Spanish — they speak English but will let you communicate in Spanish\n* quiet away from crazy party scenes\n* easy train access\n* tips like how to get to Prado for free\n\nOn the personal side, I had a super nice conversation with the woman at the desk about the Camino. She had done it years before."
