Hotel Preciados

"Just wrapping up my stay at this hotel. I booked a superior room with terrace. The room itself was decent but nothing special. The floors squeak and there was some mold in the shower. It was important for me to have a terrace - the view was not great and the terrace has a canopy which is absolutely filthy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and being on the upper floor there was no street noise at night although the lower floors might be noisy.\nThe exterior of the hotel is very charming with cool architecture. Unfortunately my experience with the staff was not friendly - no hello, no good morning or good evening. The location is very good although the hotel is on street that is not accessible to taxis so you can’t be picked up/dropped off right at the hotel entrance. I didn’t opt for breakfast nor did I eat at the hotel restaurant so I can’t comment. The wifi worked for me in the lobby but not in the room. When I asked the front desk about this the guy just shrugged his shoulders.\nOverall I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Preciados but would choose to stay elsewhere the next time I visit Madrid."

"As it was our last few nights in Spain, we treated ourselves to a larger room in this lovely hotel.\n\nThe room was large enough to unpack comfortably, the bathroom was large and brightly-lit. The windows opened so as to be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the street below. We didn’t think it was too loud, even though delivery and rubbish trucks tended to conduct their business early in the morning.\n\nGood location in the centre of town. Easy walking distance to local shops, a shopping centre, surrounded by various cafes and restaurants. Also close to metro stations, and not too far to walk to the Palacio Real.\n\nThe staff were kind and professional.\n\nWould happily stay again and recommend to others."
