GS Chiado Boutique Studios & Suites

"Do not stay here! There is no customer service for issues, we had no hot water our entire stay!\nBetween four people, we booked two rooms at the GS Chiado Boutique Studios & Suites for two nights (our first two nights in Lisbon). While the building and rooms were nice the building had no hot water for our entire stay. One person showered our first night there and found that the water was lukewarm. The initial thought was that this is an old building and the hot water heater couldn’t keep up. When the rest of us tried to shower the next morning, it was freezing cold. We messaged management and both bookings were sent the same copy and pasted email stating that there was an issue and that there was not hot water in the building. They clearly knew that this was an issue and said nothing and then did nothing to remedy the situation. We were hopeful that they were working on the situation and that we would have hot water by the next morning. Day two there was still no hot water. This was our first stop after a full day of travel (after a 9-hour flight and full day in the city, a shower is needed) and had we known in advance, we would have made other arrangements. The management clearly knew and did not communicate the issue or offer any options. After check-out we emailed several times asking for a partial refund and first received an email apologizing and asking us to let us know if there was anything they could do to right the situation. When we responded that a partial refund would right the situation, we received no further communication, and all other emails were ignored. While the location and room were nice, I would not recommend staying here- if you have any issues, no one will help you."

"This hotel has no front desk with no reception, which is fine, but room management is only available to help you with your room for a limited time. My room had the air unit set on “heat” despite it being over 20 degrees outside. Though I asked them to help me set the unit to “cool” (it is a central unit and cannot be changed by the tenets) they refused to do so and simply told me to turn it off. I am deeply dissatisfied with this hotel and will never be returning. I will also advise others to find different accommodations when visiting Lisbon."

"Such a shame I can't score higher, nice room, clean and nicely decorated the location and the set up is great.\nHowever, I have never experienced such poor building work, the interior walls must have nothing in way of insulation or sound proofing, we can hear clearly every single word when the neighbouring room are talking. (They're not shouting or drunk etc just talking). Not sure what the building regulations are in Portugal but this is such a huge let down.\nPerfect place to stay for those who are hard of hearing. 😩"
