"Just wrapped up a stay at 9Mercy Hotel in Lisbon — truly a gem for its prime location and great restaurants nearby. The rooftop bar is a standout with awesome views and vibes. Rooms are small but stylish with modern decor, though a bit dark (something to keep in mind). A few misses for a 4-star: no body lotion or in-room iron, which felt like basic oversights. That said, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and I was grateful for the plug converter they provided.\nWould absolutely stay again — the location is hard to beat!"

"The stay was nice but had a lot missing. To start, upon arrival, we asked for robes and slippers, and they mentioned they were not included in our room price, but the reception attendant included slippers as long as we returned them upon checkout (not sure what they were going to do with them after?)\n\nOur elevators were not working for the first day of our stay, but it wasn’t as big of an inconvenience for us as we were on the first floor. I can’t speak for others on higher floors.\n\nAs noted another reviews, the rooms are in need of renovation. There were quite a few things in the room that were very dirty & old. The flooring near the bathroom was coming up, the bathroom door slides along a rail that was coming up in our room and would make a noise every time we closed and opened or walked across it.\n\nJust very dingy and in need of repair.\n\nFor a 4-star hotel I was just expecting more, but we didn’t see it."

"In general I would highly recommend 9Hotel Mercy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the rooms are superb — very sophisticated modern. It’s definitely a more modern take and vibe on everything so if that’s not your thing you might dislike some of the aesthetic aspects — for instance, as another reviewer noted, the lighting in the room is dim. However personally, I think the lighting was superb. I always hate harsh overhead lighting so the multiple types of lighting allow you to tune the mood and ambience of the room.\n\nI loved the black decore and style was continuous — the rooms, bathrooms, and even hallways.\n\nIn general, this would have easily been a 5 star stay if it weren’t for a few rather significant issues or oversights:\n\n1) When we arrived at approximately 10pm and got to our room we found it hadn’t been cleaned — the bed wasn’t made, there was an partially drank water bottle by the bedside table, some trash in bags, and dirty towels on the floor. Again, the staff was very apologetic and did their best to help given the limited options. There was not a similar room available, so we were given a different room for the night and then they moved our luggage the next afternoon while we were out. While this was slightly inconvenient as it meant we couldn’t unpack fully, I was fine with this and very understanding. However I wasn’t offered any other form of compensation for the inconvenience. While I was kind of expecting to get that night comped I probably would have been ok with a bar tab and free breakfast.\n\n2) getting back into the hotel late at night was a bit of a challenge which I’ve never experienced. While I appreciate the security of locking the front door, there is no key card reader or even buzzer / bell available to buzz the front desk. Each night we returned between 2 and 4am the person on duty at night was in the back room and not at the front desk so we sort of have to knock and wait and hope they eventually saw us on the cameras? They did each time and we weren’t stuck outside too long, maybe just 2-3 minutes. But it’s still a strange oversight.\n\n3) The roof bar was closed well before 11pm for 2/3 of the nights we tried to go. One day there was no sign or anything just found the door closed. The other day there was a sign about inclement weather — although it was a beautify warm night out so I’m not sure what weather could have possibly closed the roof.\n\nFinally, as a small note, the water in our bathroom got incredibly too hot in my opinion. I love a very hot steamy shower or a sauna so I’m not opposed to the heat. But the water was so hot that it was actually hard to get it to a reasonable temperature because you could only use the last small part of the range of the faucet and not absolutely scald yourself with hot water.\n\nOverall though, again, I cannot complain too much and I did greatly enjoy our stay. I just wish the situation with the room had been handled a bit differently."
