"This hotel is absolutely not worth staying at. Instead of feeling relaxed as a guest, I constantly felt like I was being managed by the hotel in every way. Here are some examples:\n1. They clearly don’t want you to sleep with the air conditioning on. The unit is intentionally installed right above your head, blowing directly onto your face while you sleep. Of course, this makes it impossible to keep the AC on overnight without waking up with a headache.\n2. The hotel doesn’t provide a proper duvet cover. Instead, they give you a loose sheet that goes between you and the blanket—not the fitted sheet for the mattress, but a separate one just layered on top. Since it’s not fixed to the blanket, it moves around and makes sleeping very uncomfortable. You might think, “Why not just sleep directly under the blanket?” Well, the hotel has thought of that too—they made the surface of the blanket extremely rough, like sandpaper, just to discourage you. It’s absurdly petty.\n3. In the elevator, there’s a sign that says you’re not allowed to wear the disposable slippers outside your room. I honestly don’t understand what right the hotel has to control what guests wear. If I want to wear disposable slippers, I should be free to do so.\n4. They don’t provide any bottled drinking water. More than once, I came back to the hotel exhausted and thirsty, only to find I had to go back out just to buy water.\n5. No daily room cleaning is provided unless you pay extra.\n6. The carpet is dirty.\n7. Despite charging luxury hotel prices, there are zero services provided. The short interaction you have with the staff at check-in is basically all the “service” you get. For the same price, you could stay in a much better hotel in the same area."

"My wife and I recently stayed at Tokyu Stay Gotanda. The only good thing I could say is that the washing machine that’s in each room was so great to have. It was so convenient. But other than that we were extremely disappointed. First, we were unaware that this area is sort of a red light district. The hotel staff were friendly but not very helpful. We asked for help calling a taxi and because we had so much luggage that taking the other modes of transportation was too difficult. But the front desk staff said the could not call a taxi for us and gave us a QR code in order to call our own taxi. The biggest issue was that our room was EXTREMELY WARM. The thermostat said it was 16 degrees celsius but it was so hot in the room. We called for assistance that first night and the female staff member came to our room and didn’t know how to adjust the thermostat. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. My last stay in Japan was at a much better hotel where the staff was much more knowledgeable and very helpful."

"Location is great, an 8 min walk from East exit of Gotanda Station. From Haneda airport, approx 40mins by train. Easier to take to/from Gotanda to Hamamatsucho then monorail. Or Gotanda to shingawaa n use Keikyu main Line.\n7 - 11 right next to entrance, lots of eateries nearby too.\nMy favourites, all within less than 10mins walk are Katsuya, cheap and yummy. Hanamaru for udon, Arco Iris.. Peruvian set lunch... When one wants a change.\nOr take a train fr gotanda Station to Togoshi Ginza local Shopping Street, love the charcoal pork bowl opposite Watts, the famous Oden shop n Namaste Indian.\nOne is spoiled for choice here in Gotanda .\nShopping.. Donki is like a 3min walk, Tokyo Square is across the road.\nBy train, it's easy to local areas like Omouri Seiyu.. Oimachi LABI n Ito Yokado or even Aeon Shinagawa.\nI hardly have to go to crowded city areas.\nIf one wants to rake the shinkansen, Shinagawa is 1 station away.\nHotel staff is very helpful, polite n efficient. Always friendly n welcoming too.\nThe entry to lift area is safe as it's by card activation.\nRooms are of good size, compared with other Tokyo rooms.\nThey are clean, well designed n functional.\nHaving a washer dryer in room is great. Though, guest must remember to leave machine door open to air to avoid lingering stale odours. Otherwise a round of cleaning is neccessary before use.\nI found my room to be very comfortable, big windows let in sunlight when blinds r pulled up.\nTokyu Stay Gotanda will definitely be my choiceof accommodation for future visits."
