"I made the booking six full months ago, and at the time I specifically requested a quiet room away from the elevator. I arrived to find I had been given the absolute closest room to the elevator, literally directly opposite it. To have a simple request not just ignored, but seemingly mocked, is extremely poor customer service. I spent my entire four night stay listening to people coming and going, and the sound of the elevator doors opening and closing. The hot water took FOREVER to come through, wasted a lot of water. Bath too shallow for a good soak.\n\nAt the time of check in I was given no information about the breakfast or amenities, I was barely even spoken to other than to be told there would be a water outage on one of the days I was staying. On top of that, I was even charged more than it was confirmed for on my Booking.com reservation. Not a lot extra, but that is not the point. Just all round poor hospitality, which is made a lot more obvious because I’ve been in Japan for an entire month and have had nothing but excellent service at most other hotel I’ve stayed in, including three other Toyoko Inns in different locations. Staff seemingly put out by having to do their job, upon leaving I was ignored at the checkout counter, and they served someone who arrived after me. I wouldn’t stay here again, and if I were you I’d go somewhere else, where your patronage is appreciated."

"Great location!! The rooms are small of course, but the price was so good we each had our own room! I was perfectly comfortable. I booked this hotel 8 months in advance and was able to get a rate under $1,000 for 14 nights for each room! That's just fantastic! They include a Japanese style breakfast in the morning, which I grew tired of by the first week, but there are restaurants all around! Coffee and Apple juice are available in the lobby until 10am, and there are vending machines and filtered water next to the elevators. Ask for a room on a higher floor. I was in room 1311 and had an excellent view of Shibuya skyline and the Shibuya Sky Building!\nThe train station is a quick 2 minute walk. (stop #10 on the red line) and its super easy to navigate because it is a small station. We walked over to Shinjuku station a couple of times because its only about 18 minutes, but the train is so convenient and just two quick stops and you're in the HUGE Shinjuku station! The beautiful Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is also super close. The main street has everything you could ever need, and the Godzilla store is just down the street. You don't need to spend a lot of money on lodging in Tokyo. These "business" hotels are everywhere, and offer great rates. Lastly, have an amazing adventure in Japan, like I did! :)"
