"Stayed there for three nights.\n\nMy comment for this hotel is dirty and unfriendly staff.\n\nAfter taking shower, when I was about to go to bed and then I removed the coverlet on the blanket, I found hairs! not just one, but multiple on the blanket, and dust! It was so disgusting!\n\nBesides, the room has got a really strong murky smell, probably coming from the air conditioner or the bathroom. This is uncommon in Japanese hotels with this price.\n\nI can also see dust in multiple locations, such as the air vent of the air conditioner, which made me feel the room was not clean.\n\nI requested the staff to come to my room to check the situation, the male staff came to my room with very unfriendly attitude, and not even an apology for the uncleaningness of the room.\n\nI never expect this service in Japan!"

"This is one of my favourite hotels I stayed at in Japan. We visited last November.\n\nOur room was actually upgraded because there was a small delay getting checked in. The room we got was great, really huge, and the bed was incredibly comfy. Everything was clean and modern.\n\nAlthough we got an upgrade, based on the photos, the room we booked would still have been very spacious for a hotel in Tokyo.\n\nThe breakfast buffet was amazing, a large range of Japanese and western foods and everything was tasty. Probably one of the best breakfasts during our stay in Japan.\n\nThe location was good. It was about 5-10 minute walk to the main section of Shinjuku where all the restaurants and bars are.\n\nAbout 15 minute walk to the main Shinjuku station, which is one of the main stations for getting around Tokyo/Japan. There were other tube statioms closer than this too.\n\nThe staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to do luggage forwarding from the hotel, and we were also able to store luggage here before check in.\n\nI highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!"

"Staying in Tokyo for 3 nights, we needed a hotel close to subway stations, with easy access to Tokyo Station, convenience stores, local cultural attractions and major shopping areas. Tokyo Stay Shinjuku East Side satisfied all of this. Our room exceeded all expectations, being bigger than expected, with kitchen facilities (generous fridge, microwave, hot plate, electric kettle, kitchen sink) and a washer/dryer, as well as a bath/shower and electronic toilet. The room was very modern and very clean, and predominantly soundproof except for the odd police siren penetrating the glass. There are small convenience stores and restaurants within 50 metres of the entrance, and the 'Godzilla Street' major shopping precinct is within 500 metres walk, as are two subways stations. The hotel can provide breakfast if you need it, but all meals can be prepared in your own room if you're so inclined. Wifi is free, as are tea bags, toothbrushes, razors etc, all thoughtfully provided in the foyer. Check-in and check-out are easy, with the polite and efficient staff on hand to assist. This hotel was perfect for our needs, and excellent value for money."
