"The Strings by Intercontinental Hotel in Shinagawa offers a fantastic location with excellent connectivity to Haneda Airport and Tokyo Station. Its central positioning makes it a convenient choice for travelers, and the spacious rooms add to the comfort of the stay.\n\nHowever, there were a few areas that could use improvement. The air conditioning was not particularly effective, requiring me to request a fan in the middle of the night. Additionally, during summer, only two small water bottles (500ml each) were provided daily, which was insufficient. I had to request extra bottles every night—something that could easily be addressed with a more generous allocation.\n\nOn the positive side, the view from room 3135 was stunning, offering a scenic glimpse of Haneda Airport and the mesmerizing sight of planes landing through a large glass window. It was truly a highlight of the stay.\n\nOne detail that puzzled me was the inconsistency in room rates. Despite booking four consecutive nights, the second night was priced 350 yen higher than the rest, without a satisfactory explanation. While the amount itself was small, it raised questions about pricing policies—whether this is a standard practice in Japanese hotels or a broader global phenomenon.\n\nThe breakfast experience was exceptional, thanks to the warm and attentive Nepali staff, especially Minato-san, who handled requests with patience and professionalism. The breakfast spread was impressive, offering a variety of healthy choices and a great selection of buffet items, all enjoyed under natural sunlight filtering from the top of the building.\n\nA special mention to Tanaka-san at the front desk, who kindly accommodated an early check-in, making the arrival experience seamless and welcoming.\n\nOverall, The Strings by Intercontinental Hotel provides a comfortable and well-located stay with breathtaking views and excellent service. With some tweaks in air conditioning, water supply, and pricing transparency, it could truly elevate the guest experience."

"The Strings hotel by IHG is by far one of my favorite hotels in Japan. The location, minutes away from the train station, is superb. Many restaurants and shops to choose from. The service was excellent. The rooms were spacious, the beds were so comfortable and the bedding was amazing. I need those linens for my own bed! The hotel restaurant and room service food was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I can't wait to visit again."

"Excellent hotel. Really well trained staff - kind, welcoming, and very professional. The room was a bit modest but larger than usual for a room in Tokyo. My status as an owner, ambassador, and Platinum elite was acknowledged and I was given my complimentary upgrade, as well as offered a late check out as per my ambassador status. I was also offered an amenity of a free drink or points, as well as ¥2,000 off from a purchase at the restaurant, of which I used.\n\nThe fitness center needs a little bit more love.\n\nThe location is outstanding. Pretty much almost connected to Shinagawa station, which grants one easy access to both the airport and to anywhere else like Shizuoka, Nagoya, Kyoto, or Osaka. Really convenient. Additionally, you don’t even need to go outside to access a 7-Eleven which is right outside the entrance.\n\nAt first, I thought the noise from the train tracks would bother me, but then I remembered that there are no trains running at night, so my sleep wasn’t bothered.\n\nOverall, this was a great stay and having stayed in almost every single intercontinental in Japan, this was a worthwhile hotel and I recommend it."
