Smile Hotel Tokyo Nihonbashi

"We stayed in this hotel for 7 days. The location is perfect. The room was non-smoking but still smelled like cigarettes. We kept the window open and it seemed better. They clean the room every 3rd day. But every day you get fresh towels. You should expect a small room. This didn't bother me since I anticipated it. It's strange that they have so much seating in the lobby but you're not allowed to eat there. We did use the microwave a few times. I'd be happy to stay here again."

"Just checked in- staff is very friendly and accommodating- super affordable and in my opinion totally worth it and then some. The facilities are super clean- everything in working order, well maintained property. Nice out of the main thoroughfare location so you have a quiet neighborhood with lots of places to eat. Recommend if you just want quick and easy at a great deal! Located near any number of subways. Has breakfast buffet. All the amenities you could need! If you spent a lot on your plane ticket to get here- save some money and stay HERE, I have never stayed somewhere so affordable that is so spotless and well maintained!"

"I booked this hotel in Tokyo because it seemed fairly priced, but honestly, I wish I had spent a little more elsewhere. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place is in dire need of renovations. The lobby ceiling had visible water damage and mold, which was a huge red flag. The hallways were dark, dirty, and outdated, giving the whole place a rundown, neglected feel.\n\nWhen I got to my room, I was shocked at how tiny it was. I know Tokyo rooms run small, but this was literally the size of a shoebox. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and when I pulled back the cover, the duvet underneath was stained and just plain gross. The room itself was dusty, and the furnishings felt like they hadn’t been updated in decades. The window right by where my head was when I slept had water damage—which not only looked awful but felt really unhygienic.\n\nThe front desk staff was polite, which I appreciated, but I was seriously frustrated when I asked for an extra pillow and was told they didn’t have any. How does a hotel not have extra pillows? It just made me feel like they weren’t prepared to actually take care of guests.\n\nAlso, they only clean your room once every three days—which might be fine at a luxury place where things are spotless to begin with, but here, it just added to the feeling of neglect.\n\nDo yourself a favor: spend a little more and stay somewhere that’s actually clean, comfortable, and maintained. This place was a disappointment from start to finish."
