Ochanomizu Hotel Juraku

"Stayed in a single, non-smoking room in this hotel back in January for 5 nights and had a great stay! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet had good options, location was fantastic with many nice restaurants in the area and near multiple train/subway stations. Akihabara is a 5 minute walk up the road. The single-guest room is nice with a comfy bed, but is small so be prepared for that. The shower had good water pressure. Next time I go to Tokyo, definitely staying here again!"

"As a tourist in Japan, I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. It's important to note that this hotel is marketed as a "business" hotel so my advise for tourists would be to learn from my mistake and not book this hotel. The single room is very small and there is barely any space to unpack your luggage. The room is very dimly lit and the window is small so it creates a depressing environment. The hotel seems to be saving electricity and the A/C automatically shuts off after every 2-3 hours. This is a huge issue in Japan's Hot and Humid summer, I had to wake up multiple times at night to turn on the A/C again. I brought the A/C issue with staff and they barely speak english and kept pretending that they don't understand what I am saying, I finally gave up given they already had my money in their pocket. Also, the electric kettle in the room did not work so I couldn't make any tea/coffee. Tourists should avoid "business" hotels because apparently they are meant for professionals who want a bed to sleep at night and a bathroom. The location is close to a subway station and restaurants around so fine from that aspect."

"It was the worst first impression because the hotel had provided me and my team the "smoking" rooms, which we asked to change to "non-smoking". But the staff did not allow that due to full occupation and they could not speak english. We asked for a refund and got refused, which we understood, but the staff did not try to show any help, and the staff in suit which might be the manager were talking to each other without giving any attention."
