"We enjoyed our stay at Moto Hotel Ueno. Room was lovely; spacious, well furnished, comfy, clean. We were on the top floor so we didn’t have any noise issue. 4 adults and we never felt cramped. Well-equipped kitchenette. Small living area with enough space for a desk and coffee tables and chairs. Enough space for luggages and built in wardrobes for clothes. Location was decent. Daily cleaning and towel change. Lovely 7min walk to 2 stations on different lines. Easy to commute to almost anywhere in Tokyo. 12min walk to Ueno’s Ameyayokocho Market which gets super busy in the late afternoon till late. Plenty of food options and shops and convenience stores nearby. Takeya’s basement supermarket was our daily go-to for supper and next day breakfasts. Go at 9pm for up to 50% discount on food and bakery items!"

"We stayed here for a week. The location is perfect. Walking distance to Akihabara and train stations. There is also Family Mart and Lawson nearby. The services are great. We used the laundry service almost everyday which cost 400 yen. They clean and change our towels everyday. Managers are very quick to respond if we have queries or request via the Airbnb messaging system. Will definitely book this one when we visit next time."

"This was my first time in Tokyo, and because I hadn't planned my schedule well, I arrived at the guesthouse over 20 minutes early. Upon inquiry, I learned that early check-in wasn't allowed, and that an additional fee would be charged. So, we complied and waited at the door until 3:00 PM before we could enter. My first impression was that the guesthouse strictly adhered to rules and regulations, and the staff were friendly, and we understood and respected their rules.\n\nHowever, on our last day, something unexpected happened: the room wasn't made up, the trash wasn't removed, and no towels were provided. Upon inquiry, the answer was, "This is normal; the cleaning staff isn't on duty a few days a month." This matter-of-fact response was in stark contrast to the guesthouse's demonstrated commitment to rules and regulations on my first day, and it was shocking. Even more incomprehensible was that, even in hot weather, we were forced to wait or pay an additional fee even if we checked in 20 minutes early, yet there was no refund or prior notice regarding the lack of cleaning service and the impact on guest rights. Could it be that the staff's shifts were decided at the last minute? I find it difficult to accept this practice of demanding strict cooperation from guests while failing to fulfill their promises.\n\nHowever, the owner did send drinks and cookies the next day to apologize, and expressed their deep concern for their guests' feelings, which is commendable and respectful.\n\nPutting this incident aside, the quality of the accommodation itself, its convenient transportation, and its location are all excellent. If you ignore the cleaning issues, I would still recommend it overall."
