Mizue Daiichi Hotel

"At this price, you would have had a lot more better choices.\n\nThe room is too small for traveler with a travel case. And there's no place for me to hang my coat and clothes. The bathroom is even smaller than average."

"I have visited Japan for more than 15 times and have stayed for more that 10 hotels, this one is the worst one for hospitality. Maybe because its local hotel, not an international chain hotel.\nHere is my thought;\nHotel is quite okay because it nearby Mizue station, there are alot of restaurant, supermarket, pharmacy, don quijote and many more. So it actually plus point.\n\nEven tho it look like old building, but still good, room is small (what do you expect for low budget hotel?), toilet is small and i dont even mind.\n\nThere is smoking room, i like that.\n\nThe only problem here is the attitude or maybe the policy of the hotel need to be change so its not too stiff.\nI stay on 13-16 November 2024.\nI was supposed to check out on the 16th and asked them to keep my suitcase and I would take my suitcase back on the 17th because on the 16th I will stay in Gotemba. FYI I have 2 large suitcases and 1 cabin.\nHowever, the staff refused to store my suitcase because they could only store my suitcase on the same day, namely only on the 16th. Actually, I was quite surprised because I have stayed at more than 10 hotels in Japan and have never found a hotel/policy like this. Then I thought okay, no problem, but another problem was that I had bought something from Amazon and it would only arrive on the 16th. Then I asked: "okay fine, I will bring my suitcase, but I have 2 packages that haven't arrive yet and will arrive on 16th, can you recieve it? I’ll come back tomorrow to take it?"\nThen the young male staff asked the older female staff if it was okay and they answered: "No." We will not accept your package if it arrive after your check out time, unless you extend it for 1 night.”\nHonestly, I was shocked and angry. How rigid, stiff is this hotel's policy?\nIn the end I had to extend 1 night for more than 10.000 yen, mean I paid ¥20.000 for 4 days 3 nights on Agoda.\nI couldnt make it to stay a night in Gotemba because I have to check out this hotel on 17th, my planning was ruined.\nAs I said, I have stayed at more than a dozen hotels and never found hotel like this, too stiff. Hotels like this will never have a future and growing. Staff are also rude, especially senior staff, except from young male staff. Apart from him, everyone have no hospitality attitude.\nOh 1 more thing, you must put you room key every time you step your foot out. I was going to 7 11 next building and the skinny old male staff screen at me "KEY, OI KEY". I was shocked, I come to counter and told them I was going to 7 11 and he just scream out loud "KEY"! with red and angry face!. The 3rd day I was going to cafe on level 1, same floor as the the receptionist and I thought I dont need to put the key back and yes another old male staff scream from behind receptionist "Key". Like wtf. I was not going to steal or make a duplicate key anyway, it just cafe next door! Geez.\n\nI will never set my foot in this hotel again, even it is free."

"We stayed here for 9 days - Dec 22-30, 2019. The rooms are small but the service is great! There is a cafe at the ground floor where the food is great and another restaurant at the other side of the building. We had no problems when we stayed there, the only rule that we did not like is non-guest of the hotel cannot go up the room, even if they are your relatives."
