"DON'T BOOK THIS PLACE. When I showed up, the heating was broken, and temperatures dropped to the 40s and 50s F at night. I couldn't sleep for more than two hour increments. If I spent more than an hour in the room, I'd start feeling nauseous and have a headache--I don't know if that was the room, or the fact that my jaw was constantly clenched in the cold despite wearing a coat and staying under two blankets in bed. I sent the hotel a ton of emails about the cold, got very minimal response from them, and ended up booking a different hotel the first day I was at Luana. At 9:30 at night, a repairman showed up to fix the heating, which he did, but I informed the hotel that I was leaving and they insisted that the money I paid them was nonrefundable, and said in an email that since it wasn't the middle of winter, not having heating wasn't worth bringing up. When I filed a dispute with booking.com (which I used to book), Hotel Luana LIED and said that the heating was fine when the repairman showed up. I gave booking.com proof that they were lying, and since Luana refused to cough up the money, Booking.com just gave me about $300 in travel credits and refused to engage further. Honestly making me reconsider ever using that website again.\n\nIf that's not enough for you, let's talk other conditions in the room. I'm pretty sure something is growing in that bathroom. There's standing water in the shower drain, and the smell was so intense that I'd try to hold my breath when I had to open the door, and I specifically went to a local cafe multiple times to use their bathroom instead. I refused to use the shower because I'm pretty sure I'd be dirtier coming out than going in.\n\nThe idea of six people staying in the room is laughable. I'd say you could squeeze in four skinny adults and one small child. When I tried sitting on the couch, my knees were level with my face, it was so short and small. Found orange spots on my sheets, so I'm pretty sure those aren't cleaned either.\n\nThe building is next to a few different public transit stations, but since it's far from central Tokyo, you'll be sitting on that public transit a long time. There's not much at all in the neighborhood itself besides drug stores and grocery stores. And 7/11 and one cafe, which provided almost all my food for the one day I was there.\n\nThe only way to the rooms is up very narrow flights of dingy stairs. It reminds me a little of an old tenement building. I pack light, so I didn't struggle getting up to the room, but someone with heavier luggage or more out of shape would struggle.\n\nThere was always loud noise going on through the window, even at night. I don't know why, because the neighborhood didn't seem too busy when I walked around it.\n\nFor some reason, the bedroom light never turned off after I turned it on, no matter what I did. The best I could do was dim it.\n\nI camped out at a cafe for I don't even know how many hours because I couldn't stand to be in that room or use that bathroom, but I couldn't go sight-see because I needed to be there when my friend arrived. Luckily, the cafe on the corner was almost always half-empty, so it wasn't rude to take up a seat and keep ordering the odd drink or sandwich.\n\nAs soon as I got to the next hotel I booked on short notice, I took a shower to wash both the airplane and Luana off, and I had the first uninterrupted sleep since coming to Tokyo."

"Basically, the contact method is only a phone number, not even an email address. If necessary, you basically need to rely on an agency to help contact you. The host of the dormitory did not provide a method to unlock the door. In the end, we almost chose to climb into the hotel through the window. The pillow bag is also yellow, which is the most experienced pillow I have ever slept on."

"It's about a 5 minute walk from Nakano Station.\nThere are many places to eat nearby, including supermarkets and convenience stores, so you won't have any problems finding food.\nThe hotel does not have an elevator, so you have to go up and down stairs, so it may be difficult if you have large luggage.\nYou will receive the key to enter the room by email in advance.\nThere was a Gokijet on the first floor, and I brought it into my room, but I never used it.\nThe room was well organized. If you limit it to just lodging, I think the price is low and very reasonable.\nThe door to the room didn't close unless I pushed it properly, so I think you need to be careful."
