"It is a 10 minute walk to Asakusa metro station. It is in a largely residential area which I liked. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are rather small ( we had twin beds) but the beds are very comfortable, there is a small fridge and kettle, and the bathroom was really great. The Japanese like hot water and plenty of it, which I like too. There is limited food service but restaurants and convenience stores close by. A little off the beaten track but overall a very nice place to stay. The art storage areas are neat and add to the charm of the place."

"Stayed at this hotel with 4 adults. Room was clean and the shower room, toilet, and sink were all separate which comes in handy when sharing a room with so many people. The only con for me was the how far it was away from the nearest train/ subway station. The hotel is situated in a residential area, so it’s nice and quiet. I would recommend this hotel to those who don’t mind walking 10-15 min to the nearest train/ subway station"

"It was "meh" just ok. Here's my impressions. It's very minimalist hip in decor and they have great photos of the room but I find many details visually pleasing but not useful.\n\n* note: It turns out that "Modest" room means that the windows are frosted. There's no explanation as to what a "Modest" room is.\n\nPositive:\n- Location is fine. That the area is quiet was a plus for me.\n- Fridge in room\n- Large windows\n- Nice compact but functional bathtub\n- Nice bath products\n- Quiet\n- Could not hear the other guests as the walls are thick\n- Spacious\n- Good laundry area on site\n- Microwave in basement\n\nNegative:\n- No functional storage. This is where minimalism style gets in the way of functionality. Only a few hangers so I had to ask for more. No drawers\n- No phone in room to reach the front desk.\n- No staff at the front from around midnight to 7am\n- While they tout that they want people to meet locals, it is decideldy not a place where locals hang out\n- Window doesn't open, not even a crack to let fresh air in\n- Interior is all gray. For some people this is going to be a feature but I found it gloomy and depressing, especially on darker days\n- No functional bedside reading lamp. You get an attractive orb next to the bed but that's not enough to read. It's either that or the ceiling light that lights the whole room\n- I asked for the front desk to call and make a reservation for a massage at a local shiatsu place. They did not follow up as I had asked. Since there's no way for them to call me in my room, they were not able to let me know.\n- only two towl hooks in the bathroom and they were both really high on the wall. I'm short.\n- There is a step up from the room to the bathroom, which is a hazard\n\nIt was worth trying out but I won't return.\n\nThank you for reading this"
