"We stayed at this hotel for a few nights to be near the Lion Festival.\n\nThe hotel itself is located on a quiet street very near to the Tsukiji Fish Market. While the market does get very busy, the room was soundproofed well. Being in Tsukiji, Ginza is somewhat accessible, with the main station being about 10-15 walk away.\n\nThe hotel inside is typical of a Tokyo hotel. The rooms are small, but we liked that the toilet and shower rooms were separated. The toilet paper is also of high quality. Strangely, there was no kettle nor any cups in our room. We did however, like that there was a small closet area with hangers. Many hotels in Japan do not have a closet.\n\nFinally, we found the staff to be helpful and polite. We only interacted with the South Asian staff members (two men and two women) who provided good service. We saw some complaints in some other reviews regarding the staff but we had a good experience.\n\nUnfortunately, the hotel being in such a quiet area meant that there was not much to do or see aside from the market. Overall this is a good hotel for a couple of days but anything longer and you will get bored."

"Booked a room through agoda only to find it cancelled on the hotel's end while the booking is still labelled as paid and confirmed on the agoda app. (This is the first time this happened to me amongst multiple bookings with the platform) The front staff was unsupportive in helping with resolving the issue, plainly showing me the screen on her computer that my booking was labelled as cancelled. Mind you, I did my due diligence too to email the property itself weeks before to confirm my booking which the property plainly stated in writing that my room is indeed booked. Showed this to the front staff too but they once again just pointed at their screen with the cancellation comment. I had to ask to borrow their phone to call the agoda hotline before they offered to do so.\n\nDuring my call with agoda, the front staff kept trying to encourage me to hang up and try re-calling agoda despite the agoda CS who was actually helpful told me to stay on the line while they try to resolve this issue. Ended up having my room refunded by agoda while prices for said room was jacked up to twice the amount I paid initially.\n\nIf you are looking for Japanese おもてなし hospitality, look elsewhere instead. Every single front staff here is foreign and was happily chatting amongst themselves instead of trying to resolve my issue. While waiting for a call back from agoda, the front desk almost handed me the phone for a call that was not addressed for me. It felt all too unprofessional, almost as if I was dealing with a bunch of inattentive giggling teenage staff at some run-down mall.\n\nThe only time I was addressed to positively when they thought I wanted to rebook my room with them, otherwise I felt like I was being shrugged off as a nuisance despite actually showed proof that I've paid and been confirmed for a room.\n\nCan't help feeling like I was being scammed by a shady property with such unwelcoming customer service. (Read the other recent reviews and it seems like unfriendly customer service's been a constant complaint. Glad to know that my experience is not an outlier.)\n\nAvoid completely."

"Would’ve given higher stars if the front desk wasn’t borderline rude. Never encountered such service from a hotel in this country. The male receptionist in glasses is fine, but the other taller guy was stuck up and left a bad first impression of this hotel. Why do you look annoyed when we’re paying to stay here? I don’t even expect you to be friendly or smiling but at least be pleasant.\n\nWent to the counter to check in - this guy made no eye contact the entire time and his first & only word spoken was “passports”. No hello, no welcome, no “checking in?” nothing. So I asked, “passports of just the 3 main guests in booking confirmation or all guests?” (including baby?) but no answer. Didn’t even look at us when we asked and continued talking to his colleague. 5 mins later he asked for all passports 🤦‍♀️ Then gave us our keys and didn’t do the facilities/services (laundromat, wifi etc.) run down. Might as well give us the option to check in via kiosk, this guy was stiffer than a machine.\n\nRoom is ok for 2 pax max and size is Japan standard. Clean. Equipped for showering & sleeping after exploring the whole day. No tea/coffee in room but has kettle (weird). Iron board etc. by request. No cleaning for first 6 days.\n\nLocated near to Tsukiji market and trains. Walkable to Ginza. Price hike during spring is not worth it, there are better options in the area."
