Hotel Tomariya Ueno Hostel

"I stayed here for just over 3 months so it's difficult to create a comprehensive review. What I will say is that you won't find a more convenient location in the city, and that the building is always clean.\n\nI never once saw a bug the entire time I was there, The cleaning staff were thorough every single day. If there were ever any hygiene issues, it was due to other travelers after the cleaning staff had left.\n\nMore importantly, some of my best memories of Tokyo in the spring came from here. People I met in the lobby became either travel companions or karaoke groups.\n\nBecause of my abnormally long stay, I easily created a report with the staff. All of whom I became friendly with, and some, became true friends. Both the times we spent away from the hotel, and the monthly parties in the hotel, I can't possibly say how much fun I had and what their help with navigating a new country, and friendship, meant to me.\n\nIf I'm going to recommend a capsule hotel, I wouldn't even think of another place to stay. It's clean, it's insanely convenient, and the staff are always helpful and a welcoming presence after a long day out.\n\n10/10"

"I stayed here before my flight for a few days. It's cleaner compared to other places. (Still it may vary depending on other customers). Beds and towels were clean. The staff was very kind and helpful. And there is always someone at the desk if you need ask something.\nAs for amenities, they only give a towel for once at check-in the next towels you need to pay 200¥ via card/suica. And security was ok. (At least in my case)\nOverall I was happy to stay for a few days here. Would recommend."

"The hotel is tucked away in a nice quite neighborhood with plenty of convenience stores near by. Staff is super friendly and helpful.\n\nThe reason I took a star off was because they don't have luggage lockers which is fine. Where it isn't okay is that they don't have security cameras overlooking the luggage area and shoe lockers.\n\nI took another star off because I had my shoes stolen from the shoe lockers and there were no cameras anywhere to catch the thief. I could tell that the staff wanted to help but there was nothing to be done because there were no security cameras.\n\nThe hotel is an easy recommendation. This was my second stay here but my rating reflects my own experience."
