Hotel Royal Oak Gotanda

"This hotel was great – the architecture is beautiful, a triangular building with a very clean, sunny orange-and-yellow which brings you back to the best parts of the 1970s. The lobby is also comfortably retro, its chairs and mirrors adding to the period impression. At night, when the lights inside the courtyard come on, the impression goes from simply "quaint" to "picturesque".\n\nThe rooms on all sides of the hotel have some of the best views I've ever seen of the railways which hem it in – JR lines on one side, and the terminus of the Tokyu Ikegami line on the other. I could spend a whole day here just watching trains.\n\nThe rooms are simple, of course – it's not a luxury hotel, but I felt like I got everything I needed from a place to stay in Tokyo, and my experience was only made better by the building and the view. When I needed an iron for a shirt, it was easy to borrow one from the front desk. Plus, the twin room I stayed in was spacious enough for two people with two full suitcases each.\n\nAs a further good point, the entire hotel is non-smoking, so I could reserve a room without worrying about whether I've accidentally selected a smoking room."

"Its budget hotel yet, It’s not worth money compare to the facility and quality.\n\nLocation is good — very near station.\nBut if you have luggage, you need to carry your luggages to get to the elevator🥲\n\nWe misunderstood about the room and we asked about how we can change or do something. We understood the situation but for me it was quite rude that reception just repeated only what they wanna say about hotel policy 3-4 times and he acted like we didn’t want to pay - -“\nPs.My Japanese is almost native. We spoke in Japanese. But I don’t think this is the good manner for hospitality regardless your hotel is budget hotel.\nWe won’t return and please be careful if you’re thinking to book this hotel."

"Yes, this is the Budget hotel. Once you come to the place you’ll be surprised a bit, because lot of pubs and bars located in the ground floor. But you don’t have to be worried, this hotel is quite normal business use hotel. Room is small and not so many facilities, but at least you can sleep. Don’t forget that this is the Tokyo, inside Yamanote line."
