Hotel Grand Arc Hanzomon

"Nice hotel in quiet area\n\nLiked · Very great view, friendly staff, close to a tube station, very quiet.\n\nDisliked · When the futons are out, a bit hard to walk in between them or have places to put down things. Pillows were not very good especially compared to the other Japanese style rooms we tried.\nWhile the location is great, be aware there are many narrow stairs at the closest tube station with no elevators, which could be challenging for older people with luggages - yet nothing than my teens couldn't do."

"We spent a total of four nights there. Let's start with the positive aspects: The hotel is very centrally located in a government/business district. The rooms are pricy, but relatively spacious, very clean, very well-equipped, and at least our room offered a very nice view of Tokyo and the Imperial Gardens. The usual convenience stores are not far away, and you can also find an inexpensive laundromat a few streets away (just search for Coin Laundry on Maps). We can't comment on the hotel restaurant, as the pictures didn't appeal to us, so we die not eat there.\n\nIn contrast, we weren't impressed by the friendliness of the staff, especially at reception. We were immediately asked for our passports without any greeting or hello. By Japanese standards, such an behavior is absolutely disgraceful for a hotel and doesn't make a good impression on guests right from the start. Even during entry and exit, the parking attendant at the entrance gate greeted us more politely than the four little-employed receptionists behind the desk. We would also like to point out the extremely exorbitant prices for the hotel laundry and the fact that the hotel was not able to help us secure tickets for a local baseball game. The Grand Arch Hanzomon is therefore primarily a completely impersonal conference hotel with very good rooms and a great location. The service needs urgent improvement!"
