Hotel Fukudaya

"We were here in March 2023.\nI had the most touching and closest experience in this “ryokan”\nThe people in the front desk, they didn’t speak English but they were so kind and tried their best with translation to communicate.\nOverall the room was clean and it was also big enough.\nIt was very cute because I was able to say: “Ittekimasu” and the front desk people which where a woman and man of a third age, they replied: “Itterasshai”\nThe same when I came back, I said: “tadaima” and they smily replied: “okaeri”\nThe place it’s literally 5 mins from Shibuya station in bus, and 15-20 min walking. There’s a family mart close to it. You can catch every bus from there is definitely well located but it’s also in a neighborhood where you can feel like in a anime story haha because it’s like the norm japanese houses and you were able to see the Sakura trees.\nThis place was definitely perfect, I wish I was able to stay longer ♥️\nPS: I read comments here that it was annoying to take off your shoes, please, if you come to a country like Japan, where their culture and traditions are so rooted, and you don’t want to adapt, better don’t come at all.\nYou can’t come to their business or house and tell them how to run it lol\nBesides, everywhere in Japan unless it’s a public space you must take off your shoes, sometimes even in some restaurants. It’s part of who they are. They won’t change their whole identity because of some tourist, if you’re annoyed by taking off your shoes, maybe read ahead of the countries traditions and everyday activities before you visit it.\n\nAt last, this place was amazing, service, location, hygiene, you’re able to arrive late at night as well. If you want a place to sleep comfortably and also experience some local shibuya, this is the place to stay."

"Clean rooms and great service !\nEnough room for three large luggages.\n\nNot really a good location to walk from.\nBut two bus stops away from Shibuya station.\n\nDoes not have a AC unit in room but had a window so it was fine.\n\nNot too sure how the summer would be here."

"Lovely hotel in a hidden area. Front desk guy was very helpful. The room was spotless. Public bath was open a few hours every night.\nA bit of a walk from metro station and because of the poor sound proof you can hear people walk outside."
