"So we are typical tourists from Florida USA. We just wanted a decent place to stay for a couple nights layover on the way to Jakarta Indonesia. I searched high and low, far and wide, for a good long time to find "hopefully" a good place.\nWell the Atlas Hotel fit the bill just right for us.\nWe stayed in room 503\n\nPros- Location... location.. location. It's basically in the heart of Shinjuku nestled in several city blocks of various other love hotels.\nBTW, this is a LOVE HOTEL 🏩.\nNot really romantic, but definitely better than the average "normal" hotel.\nThe area on the web looks shifty I guess, but let me tell you, it definitely is NOT.\nThis area is just fine. It's safe, and it's clean.\nNo worries about criminal elements from all that I could tell.\nWe walked substantially around the entire area both day and night, and it was a nice quiet place.\nThere were little stores here and there, a great currency exchange a few blocks away which was excellent.\nAnd even a sweet place down the block for karaoke. See my review for Ihawan bar.\nThe heart of Shinjuku was only a 9 minute walk away.\n\nThe lobby was nice, with free fountain drinks and great ice.\nThe girl behind the counter was friendly.\n\nThe room was actually nice. It was roomy, with a king size bed. A window that fully opened to the street below.\nNice mood lighting. Big TV. Karaoke in the room ( which we never could get to work).\nFree slippers and robes.\nA real key, which you turn in each time you leave, and they give you a little voucher to get your key back.\nThe tub was big and clean,\nbut no Jacuzzi unfortunately 😞\nThe water pressure was excellent!\nThe tub filled up extremely fast.\n2 TVs in the bathroom.\nA heated toilet with squirt action to clean yourself.\nThey said it was a "smoking" room, but we didn't smell anything.\nSome patrons strolled in now and then.\nThe shampoo and conditioner was a good quality. A few other useful amenities were available as well.\nThere was a pay for drinks fridge there, and a microwave.\nA supplied air cleaner, which worked very well, and also served as a pleasant sleep noise machine.\nOur room was unexpectedly super clean. Hats off to the cleaners.\nOverall,we were really satisfied with this Hotel room.\n\nThe cons-\nYou can't check in until 9pm NO exceptions. So don't come earlier than that.\nThe king bed was kinda comfortable, but they had no bedsheet to lay under, so basically the blanket was all you had to cover yourself with. Just wondering how often they actually clean the blankets.\nThe "only 2" supplied pillows were abismal for comfort. Bring your own if you can.\nThe karaoke machine didn't work, or we just wasn't doing something right.\nNo coffee maker.\nNo closet space just only 2 hangers and a hook.\nNo place to hang your towel to dry, although the towels were of good quality.\nThe elevator works good, but is very small. But folks don't normally rent a room for several nights as compared for just a few hours at a time, being it's a love hotel 🏨, so need for a large elevator\n\nConclusion - I still give it 5 stars 🤩\nThe good stuff outweighed the bad, and for high season, the value can't be beat. We payed $248 USD for 2 full nights.\nI highly recommend this hotel in Shinjuku.\nLove from Florida USA!"

"The waiting room lobby and room were clean and had plenty of amenities.\n\nThe bathroom bathtub was also spacious and spacious.\n\n↑\nI thought I would use it again if it was just for this...\n\n...The front staff was more unfriendly and rude than any other staff I have ever dealt with in my life, not just at a hotel.\n\nEven when I spoke to them, they responded with a voice volume and tone that seemed to have no energy, no ambition, and no motivation, and to be honest, I was even frightened. He barely uses honorific language. That was my impression. The troublesome aura was on full display. I really wondered why this hotel had its staff working at the front desk.\n\nI once again wondered how the customer service of one front staff member could change the impression so much, even though the facilities are so nice.\n\nIt's very unpleasant and unfortunate."
