"For the $65 a night it’s not been worth staying. During my two nights stay the dustbins were the emptied and the bathroom facilities had the same attention. The fun part was the showers that have led to some fun and those showers were open and next to all bunk beds which guaranteed a restless sleep. Convenient Thai restaurant on the ground floor and the train station was a 10 minute walk. Nope. I won’t return for this money spent. I’ll find a cheaper hotel instead which is downtown Ikebukuro Royal. Same price but with a private room and a ‘gay’ bathhouse. Thanks for having me though"

"Hotel Adonis is a hostel, not a luxury hotel, so it’s important to set your expectations accordingly. That said, it offers a fantastic experience for those looking for budget-friendly, no-frills accommodation in Tokyo. The hostel is cleaned thoroughly every day, ensuring a consistently tidy and pleasant environment. The two young staff members are a standout feature of this place. The check-in guy is incredibly kind, welcoming, and efficient with check-ins, while the cleaner is friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. Their dedication to guest satisfaction truly enhances the stay. I stayed on the second floor, which is a gay-friendly floor. A wonderful feature for LGBTQ+ travelers or anyone who enjoys a more inclusive atmosphere. If this resonates with you, I highly recommend requesting this floor when booking. To access the hostel, you’ll need to download the app “Sesame, Open Sesame,” which might be a little unconventional but works smoothly once set up. The dormitory itself has 5 bunk beds (10 beds total). The beds are basic, with a thin mattress and a mattress cover serving as the sheet. While not luxurious, they are sufficient for a good night’s rest. The toilet facilities are just outside the dorm: two urinals and one seated toilet. For showers, there’s a shared shower room with two showerheads, allowing two people to use it simultaneously. The showers are on a timer, with water turning off every 40 seconds, which might take a little getting used to. One thing to note is that people use the showers at all hours, so there can be some noise. If you’re a light sleeper, you may want to bring earplugs. Personally, I didn’t mind it. It added to the bustling, communal vibe of the place. Overall, I loved my stay at Hotel Adonis. It’s clean, friendly, and convenient. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff make the experience even better. I would absolutely stay here again on my next visit to Tokyo."

"I stayed a full week here and it was OK, I was never told there was a gym. There wasn’t really anywhere to lounge but your bed. The shower on the 3rd floor had hair balls in the sink which were gross (the rest of the bathroom was clean). I absolutely hated the shower faucet on the 3rd floor, it only turned the water on for 40 seconds and had to be continuously pressed to get water, awful for showering.\n\nThe owner was nice yes, but I have a suspicion that the sheets are maybe not changed from person to person. I saw some people leave and one of the workers took the sheets but not the mattress covers. When I returned in the evening the same mattress covers looked like they were still there but a fresh top sheet and towel were on top. Maybe they have the same colored mattress covers when they change them, but I was extremely itchy from my bed and wondered why.\n\nA good price for your stay but I left feeling a bit meh about the whole thing."
