Galois Hotel Shin Ōkubo

"I stayed here for six nights in January 2024 and had a great experience! The hotel offers excellent value for both its service and location.\n\nWhile my room was quite small, it was standard for Tokyo. The real highlight is the location, right next to Shin-Okubo Station—making it incredibly easy to explore the city. The area felt safe and had plenty of great food options nearby.\n\nThe staff was wonderful—super friendly and always willing to help. Some spoke English well, while others used a translator app, but communication was never an issue. They assisted me with bag storage and even helped open a window in my room.\n\nI highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, service, and overall great experience!"

"We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great experience. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet in the room, could not hear any outside noise. The breakfast provided was excellent, one of the best hotel provided breakfasts we have had. The location is also very convenient to get on the metro, or even to walk the city for site seeing. The location felt very safe. I highly recommend this hotel."

"My husband and I stayed here and we loved it. They have the onsen bath but we were too afraid to use it as it is a nude bath. The rooms were quite small as is typically the case in Japan, but they were clean and beautiful. We were provided robes that you can wear for the bath, but my husband and I just wore them around our room, but be warned the robes are quite small so you may flash people while wearing them. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodated and helped us book taxis and held our luggage for us before and after check in. The location is about a 3 minute or less walk to the station as well as a McDonalds and Starbucks which is quite convenient. From the station you can get to many of the famous areas of Tokyo within 20 minutes. There are many food and shopping places nearby, but the street that the hotel is on does seem a little bit iffy. It did not seem dangerous or anything, but didn't feel quite as welcoming as other areas we stayed in. This hotel also has a restaurant on its first floor which has a wonderful breakfast that I recommend you have at least once during your stay. Overall I would suggest staying here if you want somewhere nice in the Tokyo area."
