"We stayed at this APA Hotel in Akihabara for one night, and overall, it was a good experience. It was a typical APA hotel: simple, but it had everything we needed for a short stay. The check-in process was smooth and easy, which was perfect, especially since it was our first hotel in Tokyo directly after our flight.\n\nHowever, there was one issue that really bothered us. The hotel offers a 24-hour check-in service, which seemed ideal since our flight was scheduled to land around midnight. We were initially told that we could check in anytime, but a few days before our arrival, they emailed asking us for our exact arrival time. They mentioned that if we didn’t arrive by 10 p.m., our reservation could be canceled. This created unnecessary pressure, but we messaged them our estimated arrival time then and received a confirmation so it seemed like everything is settled now.\n\nBut after we landed, we received yet another email reminding us that if we didn’t check in by our estimated arrival time, our reservation would be canceled. This caused a lot of stress, as we had to rush to the hotel and potentially face the risk of being turned away.\n\nIn the end, the stay itself was fine, but this pressure surrounding check-in really left a sour note. It was a frustrating experience, especially after such a long flight. Despite that, the hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-located."

"The room was a perfect size and in all honestly perfect in every way, however the level of cleanliness let it down. The staff come in every few days to clean, but not once in nearly 2 weeks did the floor get cleaned/hoovered/brushed. No shoes were worn around the room but bits still accumulate… other than the level of cleanliness it was a great hotel!!"

"Rooms are clean and laid out in a way that two people are not going to stumble over each other inside. Beds are comfy. Showers are nice and have good pressure. Toilet is heated and the bidet is nice.\n\nHonestly it's a fine place to stay. I'd give it 5 stars except for one thing: the TV and Wi-Fi.\n\nThe TV is a great size and quite generous for the space. The control box that runs it is also in control of the Wi-Fi system and it does neither particularly well. The Wi-Fi is not the best experience though it's adequate for basic web browsing. When it comes to casting from your phone, you literally have to sit through a hard-coded ad for 15 seconds before it will let you cast even a short YouTube video. There is then a watermark which reads "Powered by AirScreen" permanently on the bottom right corner of the screen. It drops out frequently and is buggy as crap. Eff this TV."
