Pemedal Beach Resort

"There are nice people working here. However, I cannot recommend this hotel for the price. The food needs a lot of improvement (think bad coffee, still-cold frozen sausages, pancakes made with instant mix). I’ve been to a lot cheaper hotels where they serve a simple but at least homemade breakfast."

"We just had 3 nights here- slightly disappointed to be honest. We booked 6 months ago and our room backed onto a building site, you couldn't be in your room between 9 to 5; if we had known we would have found somewhere else- we booked 6 months ago. The pool is tiny- our kids didn't swim as the restaurant looks right over it.\nHowever- great location near fabulous restaurants (go left on the beach front). Staff were friendly too."

"Having stayed here for years and recommended Pemedal to others, disappointed to be leaving this review, but I can no longer recommend Pemedal given my last stay - much better can be had on Lembongan or Ceningan for the price they now charge. The location is stunning, and the staff mostly friendly... but that's not enough to justify the cost.\n\nBooked a standard room 12 MONTHS in advance, to be given a "deluxe" room with a dirty air conditioner, fridge that required defrosting (the freezer compartment being almost full of ice affecting how cool it could get - not the first time) and in which the hot water didn't work for three days - although we'd previously had hot water issues almost every previous stay also, these were previously quickly resolved. Was moved to another room mid-way through, then discovered when checking out was charged the "deluxe" room rate even though we had booked standard rooms - and then not having a standard room free was their error (a significant differences for a 10 night stay). Since Pemedal have expanded with new rooms, it appears their older rooms have been neglected or not been maintained as often as they should be for the price charged - which has increased significantly over the past year.\n\nThe food is great and their chef Eddie is an absolute legend, but drinks including cocktails are overpriced - Happy Hour is 20% off which is a poor deal compared to elsewhere, especially when they charge an additional 21% tax. Breakfast offering provides a large range of food options, but drinks are limited to a few juice choices or coffee / tea, with anything else charged extra, even if you want something cheap instead of both a juice and tea / coffee.\n\nAdding to the frustration is the level of noise at times - some of which unfortunately may be beyond Pemedal's control (e.g. the locals next door have young children who scream and squeal on the beach early in the mornings right next to some of the rooms, and although they also have numerous gorgeous well-behaved dogs, there are a few which continually bark non-stop into the night, with no attempt from anyone to silence them). Although the restaurant has live music a few nights a week which ends at approx 9pm - sometimes later - this can make it difficult for anyone wanting to have an early night, or just wanting to enjoy the serenity of a quiet "beach resort". It almost feels like at times that attracting external customers to their restaurant in the evenings takes greater priority over those already paying a premium to stay there each night."
