"I have stayed in other boutique hotels, and I’m confident this one does not qualify as such.\nIf you're assigned a room on the first floor, be prepared to hear noise from other guests, the kitchen staff, and the entry door being shut throughout the night. Also, our room smelled a lot like drain so we had to keep the windows open.\nWe couldn't be relocated because the hotel was fully booked, so it’s a good idea to inform them of your preferences in advance.\nThere is no on-site restaurant, and the breakfast is quite basic: bread, Greek yogurt left in the sun for two hours, cold eggs, and a very limited selection of fruit.\nIf I return to Athens, I would prefer to stay elsewhere."

"The hotel has some positive aspects, but overall, our experience was not satisfactory.\n\nPositives:\n\n✔️ The location is very good, close to the city center, in an area full of bars, restaurants, and theaters.\n\n✔️ The staff was extremely polite and helpful.\n\n✔️ The rooms were very clean.\n\n✔️ Breakfast had a good variety of options and was quite good overall.\n\nNegatives:\n\n❌ Our first room was on the ground floor, next to the reception, making it impossible to sleep due to excessive noise at night.\n\n❌ The room was very small, and the bathroom door was creaky.\n\n❌ Although they changed our room without any issues, the new one (on the 3rd floor) also had noise problems, as we woke up at 3:30 AM due to the breakfast area being prepared right in front of the rooms.\n\n❌ There was an unpleasant smell in the bathrooms.\n\n❌ Given the price, the overall experience was not worth the money.\n\nDespite its positive aspects, the noise issues and lack of comfort did not allow us to enjoy our stay. We would not recommend it."

"Neapolis 1897 Boutique Hotel is a very disappointing hotel. I honestly don’t understand how four-star hotels are rated here. The furniture is extremely cheap, and the iron bed makes loud creaking noises with every movement at night. The mattress is so soft that it feels like corners were cut during manufacturing.\n\nThe bathroom is another nightmare — taking a shower ends up soaking half the bathroom, including the entrance area. I had to use towels to dry the floor and almost slipped.\n\nWhat’s worse, I stayed on the ground floor, and the sound insulation was terrible. I could hear the receptionist coughing, the sound of drinks being opened, and even dishes being washed at 3 or 4 in the morning. By 7 or 8 a.m., they were already pushing carts to the rooftop. I barely slept 3 or 4 hours through the night.\n\nThis was my third hotel in Athens over three days — each night I stayed in a different place. Neapolis 1897 was the most expensive, yet by far the worst."
