Hotel Exarchion

"Lovely friendly hotel, specifically the two receptionists were super lovely, friendly and accommodating! They facilitated a late check out for us and always ensured we had enough water which was so kind as a pregnant woman travelling in the heat of July in athens"

"We would recommend this hotel, since it's located in the center of Athens and has very friendly and nice staff! The staff helped us with everything.\nThey are also renovating, so the hotel is modern and comfortable."

"I don't tend to complain, but avoid this hotel - it is not as advertised. No roof terrace available (smashed up, and we were told it is "closed" when we asked if we could get a drink - told to get a can of beer from the cafe next door instead), and staff who don't seem to give a crap.\nChecked in with a hand wave and a key, no breakfast provided next day even though I'd booked it, broken doors on elevator and a dingy run down room.\n\nTo be totally fair to one of the guys there, he did provide me with a sort-of-breakfast from the Orange Submarine cafe next door - an instant coffee and some bits and bobs that my wife couldn't eat. (I did, but I'm hungry in the morning!)\n\nWe checked out after 1 night and found another hotel. The guy "at the desk" (we had to search outside for him) didn't seem bothered at all, I got the feeling an early check-out was not unusual.\n\nI can't speak too much to the area. We did wander around on the first night and found a nice restaurant and bar close by - but the area directly in front of the hotel is a bit intimidating with what seemed to be a constant armed police presence.\n\nI hope the hotel is able to make some changes, as it looked like it might have been nice once upon a time, and I don't wish failure upon a small business - but for now, do yourself a favour and go somewhere else."
